Slough, Experimental Fiction Film
Logline:
Clive is sent to Slough for a routine cultural investigation, but soon finds himself trapped in a world where nothing follows familiar logic, time stands still, money has no value, and everyday social customs become unsettling and absurd. As reality unravels, he is drawn into a ritualistic ceremony led by the town’s enigmatic leader, where performance becomes identity and escape is only possible through submission to the absurd.
My role in the film:
Producer – Managed the full production process, overseeing logistics, resource coordination, and practical execution of the film. I secured six filming locations, including a church, corner shop, hotel, and hotel reception, which involved direct negotiation, permission coordination, and relationship management with location owners. I was responsible for casting, sourcing and managing costumes and makeup to support the film’s surreal visual identity, as well as designing and creating all physical props to align with the narrative world.
In addition, I coordinated shoot logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and day-to-day production management to ensure efficient filming. I led casting outreach and successfully sourced actors for the project, ensuring alignment with the director’s vision. My role required independent problem-solving, organization, and resourcefulness to deliver a complex experimental fiction film within limited production means.
