Broadcast Producer

UCL Film Society -- London, UK

Produced and coordinated highly technical live broadcasts for Varsity Championship between university sports societies, managing end-to-end production for fast-paced, multi-camera setups.

Responsibilities included recruiting and organising crews and commentators, liaising closely with the Student Union, partner universities, venues, and sports teams to ensure smooth collaboration and scheduling.

I oversaw all logistical and operational aspects of the broadcasts, including: budgeting for productions of £5,000+, hiring and renting professional equipment, coordinating promotional shoots, and managing timelines for both pre-production and live events. I programmed graphics and overlays for live streams and used vMix to produce high-quality multi-camera live broadcasts, ensuring seamless execution under pressure.

This role required balancing creative vision with technical precision, making rapid decisions on-the-fly, and maintaining clear communication across multiple teams. It strengthened my skills in complex production management, live broadcast operations, and collaborative event delivery at a professional standard.
